The owner of Southland Books has a Zen philosophy of books: They will find you. That’s much different than her philosophy on guitars. She’s found four of them and still can’t play. Her belief is it’s better to burn out than totally fade away and as for the Chicago Cubs – they will always have her heart.

My Rules:

1. Treat others the way you want to be treated, and if they don't treat you right, all bets are off.
2. Everybody has a story. Take a minute to hear it, and you might learn something.
3. It’s easy to do the right thing because doing the wrong thing requires more effort and energy.
4. As long as you have a book, you are never alone.
5. Enjoy life now because it might be over tomorrow.
